Lace and Chambray

I love dressing down slightly fancier pieces which makes my wardrobe more versatile. A lace skirt can be really dressed up into a glamorous outfit, or dressed down for Sunday brunch in the city like I wore here! It's a great investment piece because you can make it professional, dressy and casual.
An easy way to make anything more casual is by pairing it with denim. I love this chambray shirt from the Gap and think it is a must have staple in everyone's closet! Because everything else about this outfit is in neutrals, I decided to stick to pink for my accessories and lipstick. I stayed away from crystals or diamonds and went with a matte statement necklace.
I love the way lace looks with other textures so my Prada fringe purse and suede booties were the perfect neutral combination to tone down this bright pink skirt. If I wanted to dress up this skirt, I would have worn it with other colors or metalics instead of suedes and neutrals. If I want to wear heels when I'm trying to stay casual, I usually opt for a thicker heel. Just because you're dressing down doesn't mean you have to forgo your heels!
